Ever since we booked our honeymoon to Skiathos, I’ve been counting down the days. As huge Mamma Mia! fans, visiting the island where the story begins has been on our bucket list for years.
So before we fly, here’s everything we’re hoping to tick off…
⛪ Visit Agios Ioannis Chapel
The iconic wedding chapel from Mamma Mia! is right at the top of our list. We’re hoping the climb is worth it for those unforgettable views.
⛴️ Explore Skopelos
We’ll be taking a trip across to Skopelos to visit more of the famous filming locations and soak up the island’s beautiful scenery.

We’re hoping to visit as many locations as we can, including:
- Agios Ioannis Chapel
- Kastani Beach
- Amarandos Cove
- Skiathos Old Port
- Skiathos Town
⚓ Visit Skiathos Old Port
As Mamma Mia! fans, we have to visit the Old Port—it’s the harbour where Harry, Bill and Sam all miss the ferry at the beginning of the film before setting off on their journey to find Sophie.
🕰️ Visit the Clock Tower
The views from the famous Skiathos Clock Tower look incredible, and it’s one of the landmarks we’re most excited to see.
🏖️ Visit Lalaria Beach
Only accessible by boat, Lalaria Beach is famous for its crystal-clear water, white pebbles and dramatic rock arch. It’s one of the most photographed beaches in Greece and somewhere we’ve wanted to visit for years.
💃 Spend an Evening at Crazy Rooster
We’ve already booked a Greek night at Crazy Rooster, and we’re hoping for plenty of dancing, live music and a few Mamma Mia! classics!
🍽️ Eat All the Greek Food
Gyros, souvlaki, fresh seafood, Greek salad, tzatziki… we’ll definitely be making the most of the local food.
🌅 Watch a Greek Sunset
Sometimes the simplest moments become the most memorable. Watching the sun set over the Aegean Sea with Leon and Aria is something I’m really looking forward to.
📸 Recreate a Few Mamma Mia! Moments
There will almost certainly be singing, dancing and far too many photos… and I have no regrets!
🎥 The One That Got Away…
One thing we were really hoping to do was watch Mamma Mia! at Skiathos’ open-air cinema. Unfortunately, it’s currently closed, so we’ll have to save that experience for another trip.
🤍 Our First Family Honeymoon
It may not be the typical honeymoon, but sharing these adventures with our little girl makes it even more special. We can’t wait to make memories together and experience the magic of Skiathos as a family.
